October first monday : World Habitat Day

World Habitat Day is observed every year on the first Monday of October throughout the world.
More than 30 years ago, the United Nations General Assembly took an important step in promoting the idea that everyone deserves a decent place to live by declaring that the first Monday in October would be World Habitat Day.
The purpose of World Habitat Day is to reflect on the state of our towns and cities, and on the basic right of all to adequate shelter.
It is also intended to remind the world that we all have the power and the responsibility to shape the future of our cities and towns.
